The mission of IDS Nepal is to improve the lives of underprivileged people of Nepal by implementing sustainable community based development programs. One such program that IDS Nepal has been actively involved with for over 5 years is the promotion of the bio-briquette as an alternative energy source for rural communities. IDS Nepal collaborates with local communities to promote the production, sale and use of bio-briquettes. Through training producer groups and educating them on the benefits of the bio-briquette, IDS Nepal is committed to uplifting the lives of impoverished communities and simultaneously reducing the deforestation of Nepal’s forests.
